Cedar Park Elementary School and Bryant Elementary School have just fought a very intense battle for a spot in the GRC (Global Reading Challenge) Finals.
Mar 20 – As the end of the semifinals approached, 2 teams were clearly in charge: Cedar Park’s Sigma Peppa Pigs, and Bryant’s team. These teams only incorrectly answered 1 question each, and there was no doubt that one was going to advance to the finals.
The final questions were answered for the regular-time questions and the teams were excited to see who won. The schools and teams were called out, along with their points. Cedar Park and Bryant’s teams and points were called out. They each got 115. After a brief recess, the overtime started and the teams locked in.
It started casually at first, both teams answering questions correctly. But then the tension grew. Both teams had answered 8 questions correctly, and it seems any moment one team will slip.
The final and 13th question was asked about the book Snapdragon. Bryant’s team answered incorrectly, securing Cedar’s position in the finals.
